Rašić with the German Ambassador on concrete steps towards improving the position of communities and the return of displaced persons

The Minister for Communities and Returns, Nenad Rašić, held a meeting with the Ambassador of Germany to Kosovo, Rainer Rudolph, where they discussed opportunities to advance institutional support for non-majority communities and address issues of importance to their daily lives.

One of the main topics of the meeting was the implementation of mechanisms for the protection of community rights, with a special emphasis on the enforcement of the relevant strategy and the challenges accompanying the diploma verification process. The interlocutors exchanged views on the need for more efficient functioning of responsible institutions and the elimination of obstacles that hinder the realization of the rights of members of non-majority communities.

During the conversation, the importance of economic opportunities for the long-term improvement of living conditions was also highlighted. Greater employment opportunities, the development of small businesses, and the stimulation of economic activities were assessed as key elements for strengthening the economic independence and security of community members.

Attention was also paid to the position of displaced persons, particularly the challenges faced by those considering a return to Kosovo. Creating suitable conditions for return, including security and the possibility of long-term residence, remains a priority in the work of the Ministry for Communities and Returns.

The meeting between Rašić and Rudolph served as an opportunity to discuss priorities in the field of community rights protection and avenues for further cooperation. Improving the position of non-majority communities and providing support for returnees remain areas where institutional coordination and cooperation with international partners are of particular importance.
