Minister Rašić with the French Ambassador on the advancement of the rights of non-majority communities and the return of displaced persons

The Minister for Communities and Return, Nenad Rašić, met with the Ambassador of France to Kosovo, Jean-François Huchet, with whom he discussed issues of importance for non-majority communities, the protection of their rights, and the advancement of institutional cooperation.

During the meeting, views were exchanged on the challenges faced by members of non-majority communities, the implementation of the Strategy for the Protection of the Rights of Communities and Their Members, as well as the diploma verification process and the difficulties in the work of the competent commission.

One of the topics of discussion was also the possibility of advancing the return process of displaced persons, with a special emphasis on creating conditions for their safe and sustainable return. In this context, the importance of simplifying administrative procedures and providing timely and accessible information to all those who wish to exercise their right to return was emphasized.

The meeting was also an opportunity to examine ways to further strengthen cooperation between the Ministry for Communities and Return and the Embassy of France, particularly in the field of advancing community rights and addressing issues that directly impact their position.

In cooperation with international partners, the Ministry for Communities and Return continues to monitor and consistently implement European standards and good practices in its work, with the aim of advancing the protection of the rights of non-majority communities, strengthening institutional capacities, building mutual trust, and creating conditions for the safe and sustainable return of displaced persons.
