MES continues support for 54 learning centers assisting over 2,600 children

The Ministry of Education and Science has signed contracts with 10 beneficiary organizations for financial support in the 2026/2027 academic year. These organizations manage 54 learning centers that assist more than 2,600 children from the Roma, Ashkali, and Egyptian communities, from first to ninth grade.

At the contract signing ceremony with the beneficiary organizations, the Minister of Education and Science, Hajrulla Çeku, together with the Secretary General of the Ministry, Naim Gashi, participated. The Minister congratulated the beneficiary organizations for their work so far and wished them much success in implementing their projects and programs. Thanking them for their cooperation, he invited them to further deepen the partnership and joint commitment to improving learning outcomes, equity, and increasing the participation of Roma, Ashkali, and Egyptian children in education.

The support was allocated within the framework of the public call “For providing financial support for NGO projects that support and promote Roma, Ashkali, and Egyptian students in learning centers.”

This funding scheme for learning centers has been implemented since 2021, as a cooperation mechanism between the Ministry and non-governmental organizations managing these centers.

For the 2026/2027 school year, financial support has increased compared to previous years. For the 10 beneficiary NGOs, a total of €370,000 has been allocated, compared to €250,000 allocated for the previous school year.

The financial support for the 2026/2027 school year enables the continuation of supportive services for students from the Roma, Ashkali, and Egyptian communities through learning centers, in line with the Ministry’s priorities for advancing equity, inclusion, and quality in education.
